Although the weather isn’t always agreeable, spring is on its way and with it comes a lot of fun and exciting activities around the Borough. In April, baseball and soccer have their opening day ceremonies planned as well as the Fire Department’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. April also brings the first concert of our summer concert series, which is Winslow, an Eagles cover band, on April 22nd. For more information about the summer concert series click here. May brings the annual Memorial Day Parade as well as another concert by Xtreme Queen, a Queen cover band, on May 27th.
Spring cleaning brings with it the return of yard waste pick up starting in April on every Monday, except for holidays. For more information about yard waste pick up click here. Starting on May 4th a new State law takes effect that bans the use of single-use carryout bags. For more information on this click here.
We are also hard at work planning our summer in Wharton. Plans for the summer recreation program are underway, with sign up information planned on being released in mid-May. Plans for Canal Day and other fun events are underway as well. Check back here, on our social media accounts, or in the Mayor’s newsletter for information about summer events as the summer gets closer.
