Hometown Heroes Banner Program

The Borough of Wharton Hometown Heroes Banner Program is designed to honor and recognize residents and family members of Wharton who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.

The Program will display weather resistant, double sided, vinyl banners featuring the service member’s photo, name, branch of service, and years of service on Borough light poles throughout town. Placement of the banners will be at the Borough’s discretion. Banners will be approximately 18” x 36" in size.  Phase I of this project will be in 2026 and will accept only the first 40 applications. These banners will be on display from Memorial Day to Veterans Day. Phase II of the program will reopen in 2027 for additional applications.

Please submit only one honoree per form. While you may include additional information on your application, only certain information will be included on the banners at the Borough’s discretion. Applications are to be submitted online, and you will be notified if your submission was accepted and the photo was in the correct format. Once your application is approved, you will be contacted to submit your $55 banner fee in person at the Wharton Borough Municipal Building, located at 10 Robert Street, Wharton, NJ. Payments must be made within 3 days of approval in order to be finalized. Only cash or checks made payable to the Borough of Wharton will be accepted.
