Youth Sports Coach/Volunteer Background Checks

As required by Borough Ordinance, criminal background checks are required of all volunteers over the age of 18 who will be working directly or indirectly with children/youth/minors. Criminal background checks are required of all volunteers under the age of 18 who will be working directly or indirectly with children/youth/minors. Criminal background checks will be administered every three years for each volunteer, regardless of age, who works directly or indirectly with children/youth/minors. Advancing Opportunities

Advancing Opportunities is a non-profit organization offering free social and recreational opportunities for adults and children with disabilities. Children and Adults living in Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties who are registered with the Division of Children and Families (DCF) or the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). ARC Morris

The Arc/Morris County Chapter is the largest provider of services for people affected by intellectual and related developmental disabilities and their families in Morris County. For more information visit their website.

Renegades Lacrosse

The Renegades Lacrosse program serves players in grades K-8 in the Morris Hills and Morris Knolls sending districts. This includes Rockaway Township, Denville, Rockaway Borough and Wharton. Click here for more information.

Wharton Summer Recreation Program

Wharton's Summer Recreation Program will run from July 1st through August 16th M-F from 9am -12pm at Robert Street Park. The camp will be closed on July 4th & 5th. The program is free and is available to children of Wharton residents who are in Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Children must turn 5 years old by June 1, 2024.

Registration for the 2024 season closed on June 13th.

Borough of Wharton

Wharton is a community of approximately 6,500 residents in the highlands of Morris County. Wharton is located between Routes 15, 46 and 80, stretching south from the main entrance of Picatinny Arsenal, a major army research and development center, to Route 46 abounded on the west by Roxbury Township and the east by Dover and Rockaway Township. The Borough is approximately 2.2 square miles.
