New Garbage Carts

The Borough of Wharton is pleased to announce a safer, more convenient way for the residents and DPW to handle garbage collection. Wharton has begun issuing a special cart that is to be used for household garbage only. For more information please click here and see the frequently asked questions below (updated 6/28/24). If you still have questions, please contact the DPW at 973-361-8444 x2758.

Second Garbage Carts are now available to order. To Order a Second Garbage Cart please fill out the application and lease agreement and bring it to Town Hall with your payment (cash or check only). All orders must be in by July 31st! Once the larger order is placed, we will advise of delivery dates.

Borough of Wharton

Wharton is a community of approximately 6,500 residents in the highlands of Morris County. Wharton is located between Routes 15, 46 and 80, stretching south from the main entrance of Picatinny Arsenal, a major army research and development center, to Route 46 abounded on the west by Roxbury Township and the east by Dover and Rockaway Township. The Borough is approximately 2.2 square miles.
