Reporting a Power Outage

If your power is out JCP&L has 4 ways to report it: 

1 - Visit our 24/7 Power Center on using a smartphone, tablet or laptop

2 - Sign up for text messaging with them and text "OUT' from your mobile phone

3 - Visit and click the "Report an Outage" tab

4 - Call 1-888-LIGHTSS to speak with a representative- The Police Department and Public Works report downed lines or outages as they are found, however, it is important that you report your loss as well so that the Power Company can track the outage and report back to you the status of the restoration.

JCP&L customers also can subscribe to email and text message alert notifications to receieve wather alerts in advance of major storms, and updates on scheduled or extended power outages. More information is available at
