Post Office Issues

Due to the continued issues that Wharton is having with mail delivery, we invited the Dover Post-Master to attend a Mayor and Council meeting. Mr. Fisher attended and gave the Mayor and Council a lot of good information. First, they are aware of the ongoing issues that Wharton residents are having with delivery and are attempting to address them by re-working the postal routes that cover Wharton and by hiring permanent mail carriers that have specific routes within the Borough. As these changes continue to be made, they are hopeful that the changes will address the issues.

Second, he suggested residents sign up for a service provided by the Postal Service called Informed Delivery. Informed Delivery is a free and optional notification service that gives residential consumers the ability to digitally preview their letter-sized mailpieces and manage their packages scheduled to arrive soon. Users receive email notifications containing grayscale images of the exterior, address side of incoming letter-sized mailpieces that are arriving soon. These images are also accessible on the Informed Delivery dashboard. (Images of larger mail, such as catalogues or magazines, are only provided if the mailer conducts a synchronized digital marketing campaign.) You can sign up for this free service and find more information about it here-
